Art and Craft Movement in the North West logo

Arts and Crafts Movement
at Bramall Hall and across the North West

Nine sites from Cumbria to Cheshire have teamed up this summer to show that the Arts and Crafts Movement was as strong in the North West as the Cotswolds or London.

Participating venues are;

Bramall Hall, Stockport
Blackwell, The Arts & Crafts House,
Bowness Ruskin Museum,
Coniston Ruskin Library, Lancaster
Brantwood of Coniston

Gawthorpe Hall, Burnley
Williamson Art Gallery, Wirral
Sudley House,
Liverpool Special Collection at MMU

Pick up a ‘Places to Love’ leaflet at any of the participating sites and get all the information you need to enjoy an Arts and Crafts venue wherever you are in the North West. Also you’ll be able to enter a competition to win some fabulous Arts and Crafts themed prizes.

At Bramall Hall the Arts and Crafts movement influenced Victorian designer and architect in his commission there which translated into some wonderful decorative features which are fully accessible via a new audio-tour of the Hall.

See 'Arts and Crafts Interiors' for more details

To celebrate the Arts and Crafts in the North West season, students from Manchester College School of Art have been invited to exhibit work they have produced and inspired by Bramall Hall and the Arts and Crafts Movement.
See 'Activities and Events' for more details.
